Causes of Hyperopia

Like near sightedness (myopia) and astigmatism, Hyperopia is a refractive error. Refractive error refers to a condition in which rays of light bend incorrectly in your eyes in order to transmit images to the brain. Farsightedness is an eye condition that occurs when the rays of light entering the eyes focuses behind the retina instead of focusing on it. A short eye or abnormally flat cornea causes the light rays to enter in this way. In most of the cases, it often runs in families which means that it is a hereditary eye disease.  Often, it is present at the time of birth but many children outgrows it.
